The Toowoomba Endurance Riders Association was started in 1990 with a team of local enthusiasts. Over the years, the club conducted rides at locations such as Hodgesonvale, Cooyar, Middle Ridge, Cabarlah, Crows Nest, Goombungee and Murphys Creek. Today, the Club hosts the Brymaroo ride annually. From 2012, TEHRA is to trial another ride base located at Mt Binga, by hosting a 20 & 40 km ride in January. Apart from the annual ride at Brymaroo, TEHRA have commenced a social ride program, where newcomers to the sport can have a taste of what to expect at an Endurance ride, get an idea of paces, or just ride and train in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere. Social ride distances vary from 20—40km and are currently hosted by the various members of the Club, meaning that ride locations and training tracks are diverse. The club welcomes new members, both riders and non-riders. Annual membership is $10.00 or $15.00 per family. The club is open to all ages and riders from all equine disciplines that have a genuine interest in Endurance horse riding. All types of horses are able to compete in Endurance, so if your horse has some fitness under its belt, contact one of the ride hosts to find out more about Endurance horse riding. |
